What types of jewelry do you offer?
Origami Owl offers necklaces, bracelets, Living Lockets, mini charms, charm pendants, earrings, chains, rings and watches designed to be mixed, matched, and personalized. Our lockets open with a twist or a hinge, which means you can style a new look every day by simply swapping out your mini charms!
What is a Living Locket?
The Living Locket is what makes Origami Owl jewelry so unique. Designed by our co-Founder, Bella Weems Lambert, when she was just fourteen years old, the Living Locket has a glass front, so the floating mini charms you put inside it can be seen. We call it a Living Locket because each one opens with a twist or hinge, so you can change out the mini charms inside to tell a different story, honor a different memory or just to suit your mood that day. It’s the most personalizable jewelry ever!
Charm pendant, mini charm, what’s the difference?
Mini charms and Living Lockets were the first jewelry styles we ever designed. Each mini charm “floats” inside a Living Locket and can be easily changed out at will. Our charm pendants are a newer innovation. They each have a small circular bail at the top that is used to attach them to one of the links in our charm bracelets or necklaces. We also sell pendant catcher chains and carabiner necklaces that let you easily swap out the charm pendants hanging on them.
How do I know what size to choose?
Each necklace, chain and bracelet product page includes sizing details, lengths and measurements. If you’re unsure, look for lifestyle photos and model shots to help visualize scale.
Can I layer pieces together?
Yes! Our chains, necklaces and pendants are designed at different lengths so you can create an effortless layered look. Many of them even have an adjustable chain length. Our bracelets and rings are also designed for stacking and layering.
What materials are used? Are your pieces good for sensitive skin?
Many shoppers with sensitive skin wear Origami Owl comfortably. We use high-quality, plated pieces. All of our jewelry is nickel-free, and our earrings are all made with surgical-grade stainless steel posts. We also use an e-coating on our chains to prevent tarnishing as they lay against the skin.
Are there limited edition or seasonal styles?

What can I personalize?
Most of our pieces are designed to be personalized by adding mini charms or charm pendants to create jewelry that reflects your story. Our mini charms and charm pendants come in a variety of meaningful styles and symbols – from birthstones to family to hobbies to nature and animals.
How many mini charms fit in a Living Locket?
Capacity depends on the size and style of the locket. You’ll see recommended charm counts on product pages. Also look at lifestyle imagery for more guidance on how many mini charms will fit in your Living Locket of choice.
Can I add mini charms later?
Absolutely. Many customers love growing their collection over time by adding new mini charms for milestones and memories.
Can I add charm pendants later?
That depends on the style of necklace or bracelet originally purchased. Most of our paperclip chain necklaces and bracelets do not have easy open and closures, so you would need a pair of needle nose pliers to add your charm pendants. An easier way is to let our team do the assembly for you using our online charm necklace or charm bracelet builders!
You can also buy our Interchangeable Link Charm Necklace or Bracelet if you want easy, no-tools-required, ability to change around your charm pendants at will. Our Station Catcher Chain necklaces feature a round catcher that opens so you can layer on a few favorite charm pendants. And finally, with our Charm Pendant Catcher, you can turn any chain into a charm necklace!

We offer a 30-day return window from the day your order is delivered. To qualify, items must be: Unworn or unused, in their original packaging, accompanied by proof of purchase.

💍 After You Buy: Care & Wear
How should I clean my jewelry?
Our jewelry is made with real metals will naturally tarnish with time. To keep it looking as good as new, gently rub all pieces with dry polishing cloth in a circular motion until shine is restored. To polish your sterling silver jewelry pieces, use a sterling silver polishing cloth.
Can I wear my jewelry in water?
To extend the life of your jewelry, we recommend removing it before showering, swimming, or exercising. Also be aware that our Living Lockets are not waterproof.
How do I prevent tarnishing?
Store your jewelry in a dry place and avoid exposure to lotions, perfumes, harsh chemicals and moisture. Our chains are made with an e-coating to help prevent tarnishing, but it’s always a good idea to clean them periodically with a jewelry cleaning cloth.
